September 25, 2011 to October 5, 2011Days 1 – 4: After boarding your overnight transatlantic flight you arrive in Rome on Day 2 where you will have time to begin exploring the “Eternal City.” That evening enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director and meet your traveling companions. On Day 3, enjoy a morning sightseeing tour where you will visit the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica as well as the Colosseum. The afternoon is free to discover more of Rome on your own. On Day 4, enjoy Rome at your leisure.
Days 5 – 7: Travel from Rome to Florence aboard the high speed Frecciargento train. A Florentine guide will escort us on a walking tour of the city so loved by Michelangelo, Dante, and Leonardo da Vinci . We’ll see the Holy Cross Basilica, the Academy Gallery, as well as the Piazza Signoria with its wonderful sculptures. On Day 6 we’ll drive along the Arno Valley to the city of Pisa. On Day 7, enjoy Florence at your leisure.
Days 8 – 11: Admire the scenery as you pass through the Apennine Hills and the Veneto Plain as you travel aboard the express train enroute to Venice. In two hours you will reach the magical city of Venice, its ornate gothic and Renaissance buildings beautifully reflected in the Venetian lagoon. The balance of Day 8 is free to begin exploring Venice. On Day 9, we will enjoy a Venice Canal Cruise and Sightseeing tour. Take the afternoon to explore Venice at your leisure. On Day 10, a local guide will bring the city to life as we walk through the “calle” – narrow streets – in the area near the Rialto Bridge. The afternoon will be free for last minute sightseeing and shopping before you join your travel companions to celebrate a wonderful vacation at a farewell dinner. Sadly, on Day 11, you will depart Venice for home.From $2775 land only*
